Abacus Cloud Backup Details

Cloud Backup/Cloud Storage

Storing data requires space, time, and money; and while we cannot eliminate all backup storage obstacles, we can drastically reduce them with a storage solution that scales to your budget and IT needs. As an IBM i focused cloud provider, Abacus is well versed in the importance of best practices backup policies, procedures, and infrastructure. Abacus parlays off this cloud experience and provides a one-too-many solution to the customer.

Abacus will provide a customer premise backup appliance, then work, with and for, the customer to setup disk to disk backups to the local appliance. Next, Abacus will establish a connection to the Abacus Backup Cloud for replication. Finally, Abacus will monitor and manage daily deduplication to the Abacus Backup Cloud. This data is available locally and offsite, and because of deduplication and compression technology, the storage and bandwidth requirements are typically low. The customer is responsible for the data being backed up, and Abacus is responsible for the backup to the local appliance and daily offsite replication.
